Can I pet that dolphin?

Two words: Sea Screamer. If you ever get to PCB, get yourself a ticket and thank me later. We set sail on this sunset cruise excited to see a few dolphins while sippin’ some local rum punch, but we got so much more. The captain and first mate were hilariously entertaining with their banter, and a perfect match for the sass we had in our own group of friends. With the rum punch flowing in full force, the sun was setting up the backdrop for a perfect cruise. During the early part of the cruise a few of the kids on the boat got invited up to grab the helm and steer us along the coast (I was so jealous!). Our journey took us all the way to the Sunbird condos where the captain put on a show for the beach goers, honking (because their cannons are no longer allowed, thanks “Karen”) and gearing up for what would be my ride of a lifetime! The Sea Screamer ramped up the twin, turbo-powered engines and in no time, we were flying, creating the perfect wake for the stars of this nautical show. Pictures don’t do them justice, but the dolphins were on point for our cruise. Like little torpedoes of delight, soaring and hurdling the wakes like they were hired for the evening. I’ve never seen anything like it. They were full of so much animation and you can’t help but cheer EVERY, and I mean EVERY, time one surfaced to show up their sweet tricks! I can’t say that I could remember hearing them make their cute dolphin noises, but the crowd on the boat was making enough dolphin-adjacent squeals to fill in the blanks for me. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was one of my favorite sightseeing tours I’ve ever experienced. To top it all off, the captain must have heard my “me next” comment during the kid’s driving experience because he invited me up to grab the wheel! I was so excited I nearly knocked a child over (sorry kid!) as I sprinted to the bridge. It was short-lived, but so much fun to feel the wind in my hair for just a minute.

I collected my rum punch and returned to my group, who were still talking about that insane dolphin show – well, and “that time I allegedly punched a baby so I could drive the boat.” Oh well, it was fine. Kids bounce, right?

We got back to the dock just as the sun was setting on the horizon, thanked our crew and dialed up our fav ride share driver [A Girl and A Van; and her dog!]. We packed ourselves in Tetris-style and headed off for more PCB shenanigans. (Yada yada yada) The night ended with Ms. Newbies, and a stop at the Slingshot (boingy-thing) and Vomitron – and the realization that we were one night closer to closing on our house!
