Celebrations, all around

The last few days have been a whirlwind of emotions for us. What will they find on inspection? Will the buyer clear financing? Will some other ungodly things hold things up for close? NOPE! We are officially under contract and enjoying all our friend time in PCB. Pop that champaign!

The entire week we were “business as usual” with our normal work schedule – but, somehow the normal grind felt a little bit easier to get through knowing we were just a short walk from the beach where we joined our friends each evening for a quick float and some dinner time shenanigans.

One of our favorite spots for dinner was Patches, a beachy-biker bar where we enjoyed Friday night tuna specials (it’s seriously, the best!) and their all day $2.50 Miller Light talls boys. Gah, take me back… immediately!

Another fun spot we frequented while in PCB was Ms. Newbie’s – it’s a bar/liquor store/music venue all wrapped in one. What could be better that slinging a round of darts alongside a wall of whiskey? Oh, and bonus, Ms. Newbie’s was our good luck charm that week. Most of the good news received with regard the house happened after we walked through those doors. So, I guess we may have stop one more time (twist my arm) so we can get our official “clear to close” before we leave PCB? ;)

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Juan Taco night on the boardwalk. Just a quick walk from the Sunbird, this little spot that proudly serves “the worst taco that one lady on Facebook ever had in her life” – I vehemently disagree FB Karen! The chicken and shrimp tacos were delicious and came with a view to boot! I was disappointed to miss out on the highly coveted pork belly option both times we went. They weren’t joking when they suggest going early, because they absolutely sell out before dinnertime! Nevertheless, we enjoyed dinner with our awesome crew by the waterfront, surrounded by turtles and “supposedly” one rogue alligator that lurks along the Boardwalk. We didn’t get to see him, but the locals insist he’s real.

Paul and I had our own reasons to celebrate this week, yes. But we also had the pleasure of celebrating two birthdays and an anniversary with friends. All the happiness to you, C&M!
